The Photographers'
Railroad Page
Submission Guidelines
Home Archives
Good photos usually
have good stories to go with them. The goal of The Photographers’ Railroad Page
is to provide an outlet for top quality photographs and their story. Our
appreciation and enjoyment of fine photography can grow when we learn a little
more about the background.
- We
welcome submissions of any original photographs accompanied by written
pieces. The Photographers' Railroad Page requires one time permission to
publish the photograph and the text on the site. After publication all
rights revert to the photographer.
- The
writing must relate to the photo in some manner. Please, no roster
histories, train consist lists, railfan guides, trip reports, etc. We are
looking for why you took the photo, what happened the day you took it, a
story related to the location, people you met or people you were out with,
what was going through your mind that day, why you made the choices you
made, mishaps along the way or what makes this fun for you.
-
Poetry is welcome.
- Take
a look at the
Archives Page to see the type of work the site features, it is the best
guide.
-
Submissions are preferred in electronic form
via e-mail. Photo files should be less than 3 megabytes but at least 600x800
pixels at 72 ppi. Please
contact the site to make arrangements to submit non-digital work such as
slides, prints or paper manuscripts.
-
Manuscript length is not limited but a 100
to 600-word length works well.
-
New photographs and written pieces will be
posted on the 1st and 15th of each month. Each new edition of the page will
feature a single photograph and the accompanying story.
